Fall Leaf Resist spray art is another mix of STEM and art and has a wide variety of different ways you can add to your fun ideas for fall art projects. By mixing different things into your paint you can have a variety of science lessons mixed in. The main point is to find something that will “resist” the other, in this case, it is the texture of the leaf resisting the paint and water mixture, but this process gives endless amounts of fun to be had! Try asking your kids what they think will happen before applying the spray. It’s always fun to make predictions and draw new conclusions!

Supplies Required:

  • Small spray bottle
    Leaf
    Paper
    Paint
    Water

Leaf Resist Spray Art-How to:

Place a large leaf in the center of your piece of paper. Have your paint and water mixed together into small spray bottles (You will need to make it thin enough that the spray will come out of the bottle and onto the paper). Gently spray around the leaf with the different colors you have available. Be sure to color the entire paper all the way to the edges. The more variety of colors you use, the more dramatic of a result you will get at the end of this fall art project. Once it is all covered you can remove the leaf and see how neat it looks when completed! This would be a great craft to incorporate during a fall festival, fall celebration, or fall party for kids of all ages.
